Το κάλυμμα γύψου ποδιού επιτρέπει στο παιδί να κάνει μπάνιο κανονικά διατηρώντας το σημείο του γύψου ή της περίδεσης ανέπαφο. Το κάλυμμα γύψου σφραγίζει στο επάνω μέρος αποτρέποντας το νερό να εισχωρήσει. 

Το κάλυμμα γύψου είναι αδιάβροχο και επαναχρησιμοποιήσιμο.
